FIZ Karlsruhe has enhanced and complemented its comprehensive conference information service for intranets.

Users may now choose between three options: Confnet - the fully searchable database with conference previews reaching to the year 2010; CIS - the customised easy-navigable html version; or raw data for free use in corporate intranets.
This convenient offer is complemented by CLOU, a free weekly newsletter for CIS users and buyers of raw data.
The new Confnet service covers all subject areas of science and technology and offers easy access to the world of conferences via a database with user-friendly search functions.
It is updated weekly and contains approximately 7000 conference previews, reaching beyond the year 2010.
Relevant information can be found quickly and efficiently through a concise search mask, eg using German or English keywords, a standardised classification or searching by country or conference date.
No special retrieval language is required.
Another novelty is CLOU (conferences look out), a free weekly newsletter for CIS customers and buyers of raw data, an alert service with new information from the Conf database.
The conferences are announced in an html file (just title, venue and date).
This service can help to keep intranet news sections up to date, and at the same time it regularly promotes the conference service to which the customer has subscribed.
The existing Conference Information Service CIS has been enhanced with user-friendly options.
CIS is a subject-related excerpt from Conf, compiled according to the customers' wishes and thus specifically tailored to the information requirements of the respective companies.
CIS and Confnet may either be integrated into corporate intranets or linked to the FIZ Karlsruhe server.
Besides these "ready-made" offers, customers can also be supplied with raw data (in a categorised ASCII text format) for free use, eg in their own databases, as an e-mail alert service etc.
The ingenious combination of these services makes the Conf Intranet Solutions provided by FIZ Karlsruhe the first choice for conference information worldwide.
Special benefits are the topicality of the provided information, the calculable costs and the central access to conference information directly from the corporate intranet, which makes time-consuming and expensive searches in the Internet unnecessary.
