Conduits colour-coded to denote properties

A Flexicon product story

Flexicon has extended its LPC range of smooth covered, spiral-reinforced flexible conduits for protecting cables from water.

In addition to accepting torsional movement and having an IP rating of IP67 and IP68, there are new colour-coded versions available that can provide oil resistance, high flexibility or protection against a wider temperature range.

Suited for applications where corrosion resistance is a key requirement, the LPC ranges provide an alternative to more traditional liquid-tight flexible conduits.

Manufactured in the UK, Flexicon's LPC range is available in nominal sizes ranging from 12-63mm.

Typical applications would include the protection of cables within machines or other applications where there is a requirement for wash-down processes or wipe cleaning such as those commonly found within the food processing industry.

Colour coding identifies different properties in the LPC range.

All can be used for applications with temperatures ranging from -5C to 70C, while the blue-coloured range can be used for wider temperature applications of between -2C to 90C.

Green denotes oil resistance, the black versions are UV resistant and the orange range is highly flexible.

The whole LPC range is self-extinguishing in a fire.

The conduit can be used with either nylon or metallic fittings and these are available in metric, PG and NPT threads, making them suitable for retrofit installations.

These fittings are available in straight, 45deg and 900 elbows variants.
