Normally recognised as a distributor of Brooks Instrument flow products, the Stockport based business has carried this out in response to greater customer demand, extending the ability to handle a wide range of requirements for many different industries.
The enhanced in-house calibration and repair department meets the stringent requirements of Brooks Instrument, to ensure total traceability.
Oval Gear (Positive Displacement) calibration uses water as the measurement medium, corrected to account for the viscosity of the fluid being measured, This method covers flow ranges 5-300 litres/min (0.5in through to 3in) Gas calibrations for the Brooks Instrument Thermal Mass Flow range are undertaken using air/oxygen free nitrogen and helium or hydrogen test gases.
Other test gases are available depending on safety and environmental restrictions.
The testing equipment covers full scale flow ranges between 3ml N/min and 1000 litres N/min (air or nitrogen equivalent).
Flotech can also provide facilities for in-house and on-site evaluation of flow application problems.
The Oval Gear, Variable Area Flowmeters and Thermal Mass Flow sensor calibrations are referred to primary Volumetric Flow standards.
These are traceable to international certifications, issued by NWML for the liquid flowmeter, and NMI (equivalent to UK NPL standard) for the gas flowmeters.
In addition, a refurbishment service restores meters to the same high standard of measurement that was originally supplied.
Oval Gear meters are re-set to the minimum error within the original specification of the meter.
