Oval gear principle used in new low cost
flowmeter

A new range of low cost Positive Displacement flowmeters, based on the "Oval Gear" principle, has been introduced by Flotech Solutions.

A new range of low cost Positive Displacement flowmeters from Brooks, based on the "Oval Gear" principle, has been introduced by Flotech Solutions Ideal for low flow rates of higher viscosity liquids, the BMO meters are available in sizes from 0.25 to 2in

The use of two precision matched contra-rotating oval gears means that the meter can maintain high accuracy, 0.5% of rate or better, with a low pressure drop.

Constructed from Ryton (Polyphenylene sulphide - PPS) and aluminium, or optionally all stainless steel, the meters are ideal for chemicals, pharmaceuticals and petroleum processing on clean liquids.

The low pressure drop simplifies pumping requirements, and the meter needs no flow conditioning or straight pipe lengths on installation to achieve full specified accuracy.

Meters are available with a pulse output for remote totalisation, or fitted with a battery powered liquid crystal display of flow rate or total.

Mechanical totaliser and batch functions are further options.

The BMO Oval gear meter is the simplest PD meter in the Brooks product range, offered by Flotech Solutions.

Models are also available in larger sizes, for use on all liquids - including emulsions, hot bitumen and chocolate.

Intelligent electronic flow displays offer compatibility with HART and AMS systems, and even use temperature correction to more accurately compute mass flow. Request a free brochure from Flotech Solutions ...
