Velocity profiler aids flow measurement
accuracy

The OCM Pro flow measurement system is designed for improved accuracy in measurement of liquid or waste-water flows in open channels, sewers or partly filled pipes.

The OCM Pro flow measurement system, available from Flotech Solutions, is designed for improved accuracy in measurement of liquid or waste-water flows in open channels, sewers or partly filled pipes With a wedge shaped sensor submerged in the flow, ultrasonic pulses measure the flow velocity profile from the floor of the pipe to the liquid surface

Time-domain correlation is used to define up to 16 separate zones, for which flow versus height data are logged, and can be displayed on a PC for analysis.

Powerful digital signal processing within the OCM Pro then accurately computes the total discharge flowrate, using the known pipe dimensions for each defined height segment.

Actual water surface level is computed using the same sensor, or can be based on an external separate sensor if preferred.

The OCM Pro can be easily programmed by an operator using its menu-driven user-friendly prompts, a large backlit graphics display and alphanumeric membrane keyboard.

A high capacity internal data logger stores all measurements.

With an optional plug-in memory card or modem, several data transmission methods are possible (RS232/RS485).

Simple 4-20mA outputs and relays are standard, and approved versions are available for use in Zone 1.

To complete the product range offered based on this novel technique, an insertion style sensor is available for use screwed into a pipe wall, for monitoring slurries or sludges in full or partially filled conventional pipes.

Again the range-gated profile analysis leads to more accurate computation of total flow, even for full pipes.

Multiple sensors can be used for monitoring wider open channel flows or with unusual channel shapes. Request a free brochure from Flotech Solutions ...
