Flowmeter comes with top accuracy claims

Flow meter aims for top performance
The Brodie BiRotor Plus is designed to be the best-performance positive-displacement meter available for accurate oil and petroleum measurement in 3 and 4in lines.
"The BiRotor Plus flowmeter, which is a helical rotor type design, is the most accurate meter of its type in the world today", says Henry Webster, VP at Brodie Meter.
The accuracy is better than +/-0.075%, with repeatability of +/-0.01%.
Webster added: "One of our customers, who has several BiRotor Plus meters in a truck loading facility, tells us that he has not had to make any K factor adjustments to the meters since they were first installed, which was over four years ago".
"This consistency and reliability has resulted in considerable cost savings on this site, compared with other styles of PD meter".
The standard BiRotor Plus flow ranges are from 150 to 3800 litre/min in up to 4in line sises.
In addition, Brodie has now produced a 12in high capacity meter, specifically designed for crude oil applications.
"The first units of this large meter design have been installed on lines working at pressures up to 100 bar, with flow rates of up to 2000m3 per hour, providing an accuracy of +/-0.15%", said Webster.
This meter, like all Brodie meters offered by Flotech Solutions, is available with both a mechanical totaliser output, as well as electronic output.
The pulses used by the counters are driven directly from the meter rotation itself.
The full Brodie product range includes PD meters, control valves, electronic totalisers, strainers and air eliminators, which can be designed into complete Brodie engineered metering systems.
