Digital junction box ideal for silo weighing

A Flintec UK product story

Flintec has developed a new load cell digital junction box.

Flintec has developed a new load cell digital junction box.

The four-channel FAD-4 is approved to OIML 10000 divisions and converts low-level analogue load cell output signals to a robust digital output.

The key feature of this unit is that the four inputs can either be from a single weighing application with multiple load cells or from four separate scales or weighing vessels.

Using the FAD-4 to handle up to four separate weighing vessel inputs provides a highly cost effective solution for process or storage weighing applications.

Using the bidirectional RS485A series interface, up to 104 vessels, scales or hoppers can be connected via a network to a host computer or PLC.

If the FAD-4 is used in a single weighing application the individual load cell inputs can be monitored separately and corner corrections can be carried out automatically either using test weights or load cell data.

In addition the FAD-4 can be connected to a remote display terminal to enable local operator interfacing.

The complimentary Windows-based software ensures simple and straightforward set-up for all parameters and prompts the user through set-up, digital calibration and corner correction procedures.

Analogue and digital filtering and two set points complete the comprehensive range of features for this versatile product which is housed in a waterproof stainless steel enclosure.

The FAD-4 is part of Flintec's wide range of weighing instrumentation which complements the family of stainless steel load cells, OEM sensors and mounting hardware with capacities from 3kg to 300t.
