Wastewater treatment solution provider KEE Process has selected Flender Motox geared motors to power its rotating biological contacters (RBCs) for medium and large applications.
Wastewater treatment solution provider KEE Process has selected Flender Motox geared motors to power its rotating biological contacters (RBCs) for medium and large applications.
The geared motors feature in KEE Process's modular packaged DC/DN RBC treatment plants and large diameter RBC modules.
The DC module range is optimised for carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) removal and the DN module range is optimised for nitrification and/or total nitrogen removal and phosphorus reduction.
KEE's products are designed to provide self-contained treatment systems for on-site wastewater treatment, containing anoxic and aerobic reactors.
They can handle wastewater from between 50 and 1500 people, ideal for hotels or even small villages, with larger flows covered by the installation of multiple RBC modules.
Due to being driven by these direct coupled geared motors, the units are virtually silent in operation.
The Flender Motox units were selected due to their low maintenance requirements, high torque reduction to around 1 rev/min, and their ongoing low power demands.
Each drive has a shrink disc fitted for easy removal.
KEE Process also requires longevity from these self-contained units to ensure lowest lifetime costs.
Structural components have therefore been designed with a 30-year life and mechanical/electrical components with a 100,000-hour L10 selection life.
KEE offers fixed-price operation and maintenance contracts for these units.
