Nearly 100 delegates attended the inaugural meeting of the Infra-red Camera User Group organised by Flir Systems.

Held at the Motorcycle Museum in the Midlands, this single day event brought together thermography professionals from all sectors and provided an excellent forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Contributions from infra-red camera users serving a variety of sectors formed the backbone of the day's events.

They included presentations on the inspection of buildings and refineries and thermal imaging in facilities management.

Keith Badham's presentation focused on general condition monitoring.

His company, KCM Services, undertakes thermal imaging and vibration analysis work on a worldwide basis and Badham drew on some 2000 surveys to provide an insight into the diverse applications to which thermal imaging is applied.

"The feedback from the day was very positive", Badham explained.

"It was great to be with other thermographers in a noncompetitive environment".

Plans are currently being drawn up for the next meeting.
