The affordable, uncooled thermal imaging camera
With the introduction of the new ThermaCAM SC500, FLIR Systems is able to extend the benefits of its patented solid state microbolometer detector techlogy to the R and D community.
The smallest of temperature differences can be seen clearly on the ThermaCAM S65HS thanks to its thermal sensitivity of 0.05 degrees.
For applications that do not require radiometric data, the camera can also record and playback up to 20 seconds of AVI or burst recording - ideal for studying moving targets and dynamic events.
In common with other S Series models, the S65HS has a built-in digital visual camera.

Why it has never been easier to use thermography
The ThermaCAM PM 695 thermographic camera uses MicroIRT technology, a patented third generation uncooled microbolometer FPA detector which has nearly 77,000 measurement points
Thanks to its state-of-the-art 320 x 240 uncooled microbolometer detector, the S65HS is ready for use in seconds.
A total of 76,000 pixels provide real-time and crisp, high-resolution 16bit thermal images.
Text comments for each image can be entered manually or preloaded from a PC via the optional ThermaCAM Reporter software.
Up to 30 seconds of voice comment can also be recorded against each image via a cordless Bluetooth headset.
Images are taken randomly or automatically captured at preset intervals and stored in JPEG format on a removable CompactFlash memory card or internal RAM.
Enhanced connectivity options on this new model include an IEEE1394 FireWire interface for real-time transfer of fully radiometric 16bit JPEG images and associated data.
Conveniently located buttons and joystick allow the operator to activate all camera functions and analysis tools, easily and quickly; the detachable LCD contains all the necessary controls for remote operation.
For increased flexibility, choices such as colour palettes, emmisivity settings and temperature ranges are programmed via buttons on the side of the camera.
Powerful auto-focus and auto-hotspot features save time and effort.
The S65HS can automatically indicate the temperature and position of the hotspot via Laser LocatIR - a standard feature - and instantly calculate the difference between measurement points.
Sound and colour alarms warn when a target exceeds a temperature maximum set by the user.
At only 2kg, the ThermaCAM S65 is the lightest, fully featured infra-red camera available.
In an IP54 housing, it is designed for use in harsh industrial environments and has a high shock rating.
Optional optics range from microscopic to telescopic to meet diverse application requirements.
An infra-red head-up display can also be specified.
Long-life Li-ion batteries are rechargeable from 12V DC and 120V AC sources or operate the S65HS directly from external power sources. Request a free brochure from Flir Systems ...
