A nationwide programme of week-long thermography training courses cover elementary theory and measurement techniques and provide essential hands-on camera experience.

Detecting faults before they develop into expensive failures is where thermal imaging excels Whether it's a bad electrical connection, a worn refractory lining, a faulty bearing, a corroded pipe or a damp wall, a key symptom of the problem is abnormal temperature

This abnormality is clearly visible through an infra-red camera, enabling the operator to pinpoint the fault while the system is in operation.

To provide engineers with a thorough grounding in this technology, industry-leader Flir Systems International Training Centre (ITC) has just announced a nationwide programme of week-long seminars.

These UK Level 1 Certification Thermography Training Courses cover elementary theory and measurement techniques and provide essential hands-on camera experience.

A certificate is awarded on the successful completion of a 50-question multiple-choice test on the final day.

These courses are open to any thermographer, independent of the camera they use - delegates without a camera can contact Flir who can make a camera available for the duration of the course.

The first of the UK Level II courses has also been confirmed by Flir Systems.

This course provides the student with a greater theoretical understanding of infra-red thermography and focuses on application specific projects.

It is designed for those whose primary role is as a thermographer and who therefore need to study the subject in greater depth.

Confirmed dates are as follows: Monday 23rd to Friday 27th January 2006, Milton Keynes; Monday 20th to Friday 24th February 2006, Kent; Monday 20th to Friday 24th March 2006, Milton Keynes; Monday 15th to Friday 19th May 2006, Kent; Monday 19th to Friday 23rd June 2006, Dublin, Ireland; Monday 17th to Friday 21st July, Milton Keynes; Monday 18th to Friday 22nd September, Scotland; Monday 2nd to Friday 6th October, Kent, Level II; and Monday 20th to Friday 24th November, Milton Keynes.

Other courses available include "Thermography for building diagnostics" and "Thermography for R and D applications".

The ITC is also able to develop customised courses for specific users and industries to run in-house. Request free introductory details about products from Flir Systems ...
