Power recorder keeps track of supplies

Fluke now offers powerful permanently sited single- and three-phase electrical power recorders following its acquisition of Reliable Power Meters.

Fluke now offers powerful permanently sited single- and three-phase electrical power recorders following its acquisition of Reliable Power Meters (RPM) Available in the UK through the power quality specialist distributor, Rhopoint, the InSite recorder can be used in substations and switchgear, and for monitoring incoming and internal power at data-centres, factories and commercial buildings

Optional powerful predictive maintenance software helps ward off potential disasters before they happen.

The Fluke RPM InSite power recorder simultaneously measures power quality, energy, power consumption, harmonics and flicker.

It comprehensively captures all power information, without requiring pre-set thresholds or triggers.

The monitor can, in fact, be set up in minutes without any complicated menus or programming steps.

PC software provides real-time meter and oscilloscope graphics.

Power quality monitoring detects events such as sags, swells, transients and interruptions.

Power consumption and power flow measurements include energy, demand, watts, volt-amperes, reactive power, power factor and kilowatt-hours.

Harmonics detection includes measurement to the 63rd harmonic, flicker to IEC868 and summaries of all voltage and current harmonics over time.

The software offers displays of real time meters and oscilloscopes measuring voltage, current and power waveforms, the harmonic spectrum, flicker and impedance.

The optional analytical RPM Scenario software is a predictive maintenance software which reveals potential power problems before they happen.

It can inform whether the power is getting better or worse, indicates where it is getting better or worse, and provides indicators of why the power is getting worse.

This information can enable a user to take corrective actions before costly power disruptions occur.

The RPM InSite power recorder comes with an Ethernet port as standard, enabling TCP/IP communications of multiple recorders over Ethernet networks, intranets or even the Internet.

A dial up connection via an RPM Ethernet modem router also enables remote interrogation of InSite monitors.

The InSite monitor is housed in a small, rugged enclosure with a footprint of just 260 x 220mm and weighs just 3.4kg.

It features easily accessible terminal strips for voltage and current connections, and has built-in current transformers for monitoring current metering circuits found in substations and switchgear. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
