Cut price for power quality analysis

Fluke is now offering its successful handheld 43B power quality analyser with a 30% cost saving.

Fluke is now offering its successful handheld 43B power quality analyser with a 30% cost saving At the same time it is offering two other alternatives - free test tools with the full 43B package, and a kit which includes a voltage event monitoring system with the 43B

The 600V Category II safety-compliant Fluke 43B is targeted at electrical engineers, utility technicians, electrical contractors, facility engineers, industrial equipment technicians and many others who have to deal with power supplies and networks in their everyday work.

The Fluke 43Basic is introduced to provide a 30% cost saving against the standard 43B package.

It is the same power quality analyser but comes with a 200A current clamp i200s, instead of a 500A current clamp 80i500s, and comes without accessories which are normally standard, such as analysis software, interface cable and a hard carry case.

The 43B combines analysis capabilities with a digital multimeter and data recorder in a rugged and compact handheld package.

It is the ideal tool to quickly solve many common problems in the power domain: tripping circuit breakers, overheating transformers and cables, motors that burn out, lamps that flicker and computers that fail with no visible cause.

With its ability to show current and voltage waveforms, calculate power parameters and capture voltage sags and swells, transients and inrush currents, underlying power quality problems can be identified, so that the appropriate corrective measures can be taken.

Together with its power functions, the Fluke 43B includes multimeter functions as well as a 25Msample/s dual-input digital oscilloscope with advanced triggering capabilities.

The 43B has 20 storage locations for settings, waveform data and readings that can be recalled for later analysis using cursors.

The standard 43B is now supplied with two free Fluke products which are useful for power quality investigations - the VPS40 10:1 oscilloscope voltage probe which enables capture of signals with a bandwidth of up to 20MHz, and a 61 IR thermometer for temperature readings of rotating, electrically live, dangerously hot, or hard-to-reach objects.

Supplied with the Fluke 43B is FlukeView power quality software, which supports logging, reading and display of all harmonics right down to the 51st, including THD and phase angles of individual harmonics, as well as all other readings from the 43B's display.

After downloading to the PC, data from the 43B can be analysed and included in reports.

The Fluke 43Kit bundles the standard 43B and all its accessories together with a Fluke VR101S for voltage event monitoring over longer periods.

The additional VR101 voltage event recorder is programmed from software on a PC and plugged for a period into an outlet that is to be tested.

It detects sags, swells, transients, outages and frequency variations on single-phase mains.

After capturing up to 4000 events, the results can be downloaded to a computer for analysis and reporting. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
