Handheld scopes speed medical servicing

Dual-input colour and monochrome handheld oscilloscopes have features especially designed for engineers servicing medical imaging and high-resolution medical video equipment.

Fluke is offering dual-input, colour and monochrome handheld oscilloscopes with features especially designed for engineers servicing medical imaging and high-resolution medical video equipment With bandwidths up to 200MHz and up to 2.5Gsample/s sampling, Fluke ScopeMeters have the speed, performance and analysis power usually found only on high-end bench oscilloscopes, helping users to solve virtually all electronics measurement problems encountered in the field

The four Fluke Medical ScopeMeter models include two monochrome models, the 196BM and 199BM, and two colour models, the 196CM and 199CM.

These offer all the standard functionality of the Fluke 196s and 199s, plus measurement capabilities optimised for servicing medical imaging equipment and video systems, including X-ray, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound machines.

These features include: current-over-time measurement (in milliamps) using cursors - applicable to medical X-ray equipment; triggering on high-resolution noninterlaced video signals - typical of signals used by high resolution medical imaging equipment; smart averaging; and extended offset.

The Fluke 196CM and 199CM Colour Medical ScopeMeter models offer y-axis sensitivity of up to 2mV per division.

A troubleshooting feature offers automatic waveform comparisons, against a reference trace, for pass/fail testing.

The oscilloscope automatically stores the most recent 100 pass and 100 fail traces in memory, which can then be scrolled or rerun at the touch of a button.

The colour display makes identification of individual waveforms easier on the screen, making it possible to visually distinguish individual traces if waveforms are displayed on top of, or very close to, each other.

A digital persistence mode gives the instrument an analogue oscilloscope like waveform decay, especially useful when working with complex or modulated, dynamic signals.

Both 199 models offer a 200MHz bandwidth and 2.5Gsample/s real-time sampling, and the 196 models have a 100MHz bandwidth and 1Gsample/s sampling.

All ScopeMeter models have a large 320 x 240 pixel display and safety certification to 1000V CAT II and 600V CAT III.

They feature a fast display update rate, up to 1000V independently floating isolated inputs, offer connect-and-view automatic triggering, a 5000 counts true-RMS multimeter function and a TrendPlot paperless recorder mode.

The meters come complete with FlukeView software, for documenting, archiving and analysis, a hard carrying case, and accessories.

They can be purchased from Fluke authorised distributors. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
