CAT IV safety rating on new digital multimeters
Fluke has introduced the 170 Series Digital Multimeters with lifetime warranties and the latest category IV safety ratings, designed for use up to 1000V and 10A AC or DC
Safe usage is enhanced with a built-in live voltage indicator, and an integrated test button on a slim probe, which offers one-handed measurement even of hard to reach points.
The Fluke/Robin 1652 and 1653 installation testers perform trip time and tripping current level (ramp) tests of residual current activated devices (RCDs), in addition to the primary tests of voltage, frequency, continuity, insulation resistance, loop impedance, PSC and PFC tests.
They use a unique and patented advanced loop measurement technology to prevent electronic and passive type RCDs from tripping during earth-loop testing, while also giving highly consistent and repeatable results.
They also feature RCD auto-testing which measures tripping time in an automatic sequence of six tests.
This eliminates the need for the test engineer to keep returning to the installation tester after resetting a tripped RCD.
The 1653 goes further, featuring an internal memory store and PC link, as well as offering earth resistance and phase sequence measurement.
Up to 500 measurements can be stored for later recall or can be uploaded via an infra-red (IR) port connected to a PC.
Optional FlukeView Forms software enables the PC preparation of professional reports, which can be customised if required.
The 1650 Series installation testers conform to the requirements of EN61557 standards for test equipment used in installation testing.
Both models are supplied as complete kits and come equipped with test leads, crocodile clips, heavy-duty carrying case, neck strap, mains connection lead, language reference card and an operating manual on CD-ROM.
The 1653 includes an IR adapter for PC connection.
FlukeView Forms software and earth test kit for earth resistance testing are available as optional extras with the 1653. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
