Three-phase power quality tools come to
hand

Power quality analysers incorporate new IEC standards for flicker, harmonics and power quality for convenient troubleshooting of both three- and single-phase power distribution systems.

Fluke has added a new model to its line of three-phase handheld power quality analysers It features full IEC 61000-4-30 Class A compliance, expanded memory and measurement capability, a user-configurable logging function and new logging and reporting software

Fluke has also added advanced measurement capabilities to its popular Fluke 434, features which are available as an upgrade for existing users.

Both 600V Cat IV and 1000V Cat III safety-rated power quality analysers are designed to help users pinpoint power problems faster and in greater detail with on-screen display of trends and captured events, even while background recording continues.

The new Fluke 435 three-phase power quality analyser features 0.1% voltage accuracy and a GPS time sync option, making it fully compliant with the IEC61000-4-30 Class A standard.

With double the memory of the 434 and a user-configurable logging function, the Fluke 435 can be set up easily for any test condition and will store up to 100 parameters on each of four phases at user-defined intervals.

Users can easily view logged data and generate reports with new Fluke Power Log software, included with the unit.

Additionally, the Fluke 435 features a mains signalling capability that enables users to measure interference from ripple control signals at specific frequencies.

It also includes four flexible 3000A current probes that are 600V Cat IV-rated and instrument-powered, eliminating the need for batteries.

Both the Fluke 435 and new Fluke 434 analysers incorporate the new IEC standards for flicker, harmonics and power quality for convenient troubleshooting of both three-phase and single-phase power distribution systems.

Users can analyse trends in real time using the cursors and zoom tools while background recording continues.

They now include expanded wiring configurations with 2 and 2.5 element measurement modes, improved 0.001Hz resolution, and they support GPS time synchronisation, according to IEC610000-4-30, with the optional GPS430 module.

The 434 and 435 also feature improved phase angle resolution of 0.1 degrees that is referenced to L1/A voltage, and a phase rotation indicator that enables users to determine correct connections by providing clear indication of the phase rotation direction.

The new Fluke 435 is supplied with FlukeView analysis and PowerLog software and optical USB cable, a rolling hard carrying case, current probes, test leads and crocodile clips, battery charger, a pre-installed rechargeable battery (able to provide 7h operation per charge) and user manuals.

An upgrade kit is available for the Fluke 434 that adds to it the logging function, mains signalling measurement, and flexible instrument-powered current probes provided as standard with the Fluke 435.

The Fluke 430 Series power quality analysers can be purchased from Fluke authorised distributors. Request a free brochure from Fluke (UK) ...
