Fluke presents pocket distance-measuring tools

A Fluke (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 9, 2008

Fluke has introduced two pocket-size, professional-grade laser distance-measuring tools.

With buttons positioned for one-handed measurement, addition, subtraction, area, volume and other calculations can be simply computed on large displays.

The compact Fluke 416D laser distance meter, like the Fluke 411D, is designed for indoor and limited outdoor applications with a single-button, instant-measurement operation.

It is IP45-protected and has a three-line, backlit display.

Able to measure up to 60m with a 1.5mm accuracy, it will store the last 10 measurements for quick recall.

Enhanced Pythagoras calculation can compute the diagonal from two dimensions and in a three-dimensional space.

The Fluke 411D measures distances up to 30m, with a 3mm accuracy, using a two-line display.

It offers diagonal calculations for two dimensions only.

Both models feature an automatic shutdown to improve battery life.

Unlike ultrasonic distance meters with laser pointers, the precision narrow laser beams of the Fluke 416D and 411D avoid the common errors caused by extraneous objects near measurement targets.

The extra-bright laser is clearly visible for sighting the targeting point, even if it is hard to reach or distant.
