Fluke has introduced an entry-level thermal imager aimed at facility managers, building inspectors, energy assessors and plumbers to detect energy loss and damage in buildings.

The Fluke Tirx Inspector is able to show faults in buildings in great detail: resolution is 160 x 120 pixels and thermal sensitivity is 0.1C (NETD) at 30C.

Fluke has introduced a new entry-level thermal imager aimed at facility managers, building inspectors, energy assessors and plumbers.

The rugged, point-and-shoot Tirx Inspector has a widescreen colour LCD display.

The imager helps perform rapid building envelope and roofing inspections for restoration and repair.

It instantly shows problems such as heat loss from HVAC systems, water leakage from pipes and radiators, air leakage from windows, moisture intrusion in insulation and location of underfloor heating.

The Fluke Tirx Inspector has a -20C to +100C temperature range, optimised for building diagnostics.

The viewing angle is a wide 23 x 17, and the thermal imager lens has adjustable focus with a minimum focus distance of 15cm.

Users just point the imager and pull the trigger to capture the full picture, showing even small temperature differences.

Fluke's Smartview software, featuring a 3D imaging capability and options for optimising and organising thermal images and creating professional reports, is included with the product, as well as a 2GB SD memory card.

The IP54-rated instrument resists dust and water, and withstands a drop test of 2m.

The imager comes complete with a rugged hard carry case, soft transport bag, adjustable hand strap, rechargeable internal battery, and AC power supply/battery charger with mains adapters.

Fluke also supplies a training DVD.

The Fluke Tirx Inspector can be purchased from Fluke authorised distributors.
