New facility calibrates flow measurement devices

A Flow Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 7, 2006

Flow Technology has opened its new flowmeter calibration, service and repair centre

This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with one of the industry's largest selections of primary standard flow calibrators.

Flow Technology's service and repair centre, located at the company's new headquarters in Tempe, Arizona,USA, can calibrate almost all types of industrial flow measurement devices, including turbine, Coriolis, positive displacement and variable area meters.

A variety of calibration procedures can be performed, including Reynolds Number and Universal Viscosity Curve (UVC) calibrations.

All calibrations performed by Flow Technology are directly traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and comply with ANSI Z540 and ISO 9000 guidelines.

Every meter calibration is accompanied by a standard or custom hard copy report, and a history file is maintained in compliance with US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ANSI and ISO equipment calibration requirements.

Flow Technology's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ralph Duffill, said, "We are pleased to offer a flowmeter service centre to customers who demand the highest level of calibration accuracy and traceability".

"Our new facility utilises the most advanced primary standard calibration systems available, and is preferred by users with high precision meter applications, such as those found in the aerospace, automotive and metrology industries".

Duffill noted that flowmeter calibration, service and repair programmes reduce cost and downtime.

Plus, a recurring, well documented flowmeter calibration programme is a valuable asset in maintaining ISO 9001 quality standards and supporting other internal QA/QC initiatives.

Flow Technology's Calibration Programme Agreement provides a 10 working days turnaround service for calibrating flowmeters and associated electronics that are within the facility's calibration capability.

Other manufacturers' flowmeters and their associated electronics can also be serviced within 10 working days provided parts are available.

To better serve customers around the world, Flow Technology offers service centres in Germany and Japan.

Trigas FI, located in Munich, Germany, and Eagle Engineering Aerospace, located in Tokyo, Japan, can perform a wide range of flowmeter calibration procedures.

In addition, both facilities are capable of performing system functional tests and troubleshooting and repairing calibration equipment and ancillary flowmeter electronic components.
