New man spearheads move into plastics
handling

Martin Lowe, previously Group Chief Engineer at Unigate Dairies has joined FlexLink Systems Limited, the Milton Keynes based plastic chain conveyor systems and automation components supplier, in the newly created position of Business Development Manager - PET Martin will be spearheading FlexLink's drive into the PET and plastics handling markets and taking responsibility for creating a Centre of Excellence within the company

The use of PET and other plastics is increasing rapidly and forecasts predict the demand for PET within the carbonated soft drinks and bottled water markets alone will swell by 20% over the next few years.' Paul McEllin, Business Development Director, FlexLink said 'The market for systemised solutions supplied by a company with FlexLink's expertise is huge - at present, the industry is suffering using current systems that are not flexible enough or that have performance shortcomings.
FlexLink is building on the pioneering work in this development area that was started at the Japanese operation and customers worldwide will soon see the benefits of these advancements.' Paul McEllin continued 'We are well aware that the beverage and dairy industry is forecast high growth and with Martin's in depth knowledge from a user perspective along with FlexLink's experience in providing solutions for this industry, we can anticipate exactly what customers need and want.' Martin's career before joining FlexLink has included full responsibility for the central engineering function at Unigate Dairies as Group Chief Engineer.
Prior to this, Martin was with the Co-Operative Wholesale Society where he was responsible for capital projects, packaging technology and product development across Co-op brand foods.
