Dry powder fire extinguishers for marine use

A Firemaster Extinguisher product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 9, 2001

Firemaster has introduced new high quality, refillable ABC dry powder fire extinguishers, specially marinised to prevent the ingress of salt water where the valve is assembled to the cylinder

Firemaster has introduced new high quality, refillable ABC dry powder fire extinguishers in 1kg and 2kg sizes ideal for use on boats.

Both products are specially marinised to prevent the ingress of salt water where the valve is assembled to the cylinder.

They both have a pressure gauge.

The powder used achieves a rapid knockdown of flames by chemical reaction with the fire.

It also melts at a relatively low temperature so as to blanket the burning embers to prevent re-ignition.

These extinguishers meet the recommendations of the Royal Yachting Association and requirements of the Environmental Authority/British Waterways Board Joint Boat Safety Scheme.

They are manufactured and third party Certified to BS EN3-1996, Kitemarked, and carry a 5-year warranty.

The new extinguishers are available from marine chandlers and other distributors of Firemaster products.
