Design software adds vendor specific components

A Famic Technologies product story

Famic Technologies has released a new version of Automation Studio, the innovative system design, simulation and documentation solution for fluid power and electrical projects.

Famic Technologies has released a new version of Automation Studio, the innovative system design, simulation and documentation solution for fluid power and electrical projects, enabling original equipment manufacturers to accelerate time to market, reduce errors, and optimise the entire workflow, from system design, to maintenance, service and training.

The software offers in one single environment user-friendly design features, advanced engineering capabilities, a realistic animated simulation, and flexible documentation tools.

Increasing productivity is one of the biggest assets of Automation Studio.

"Now a project that would have taken me six or seven hours, takes me only two or three hours", said Morbark Circuit Designer for Electrical and Hydraulic Circuits Bill Price.

The new Automation Studio 5.4 libraries include new vendor specific components to speed up the design process such as Parker (P2, P3 etc), Bosch Rexroth (A4VG, A10VO, A6VM), Kawasaki, Sauer Danfoss, and a brand new library for components by Hydraforce.

Symbols like hydrostatic transmissions and power steering units are provided and can be controlled in a very flexible way thanks to PID controllers, joysticks and steering wheels.

The integration of a Spool Position Designer and a Pump Builder speeds up the design process by allowing to easily create the schematic implementation of any valve inner function, and to create complete pumps with their corresponding controls and characteristics.

Other developments include the new HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Control Panels module, which allows to create control panels or to simulate systems while monitoring a 2D reproduction of a machine moving accordingly.

Automation Studio offers advanced simulation capabilities which sets close correlation between diagrams and real circuits.

Each component has its own simulation models, and become colour-animated according to its state, therefore facilitating testing and validation of design integrity.

Simulation considers a wide range of parameters including temperature and viscosity, and applies to entire circuits of virtually any size, making it easy for customers involved in the design of heavy mobile equipment to evaluate, analyse, and modify their systems easily.

Automation Studio capabilities also serve other departments such as maintenance, service and training, which can rely on Automation Studio simulation and documentation capabilities to reduce downtime and troubleshooting time, to test "what if" scenarios, and to create more flexible training material at virtually no extra cost.
