Low-profile relay takes on power switching

Aimed at electronics and electrical OEM design engineers and CEMs involved in PCB assembly, the relay allows PCBs to be positioned closely next to each other, maximising usage of space.

With a mounting height of less than 13mm and a switching capacity of 10A, the relay is designed for power switching applications where enclosure space is restricted and also in commercial applications such as mounting behind lighting switchplates.

The standard version of the relay features AgCdO2 contacts, and for use in lighting applications, a special AgSnO contact material is an option to combat the high inrush currents associated with this application.

The 40.11 series relays are able to operate in an ambient temperature range of -40 to +70C, and coil options span 6 to 60V DC.

The 10A relay is rated for 250V AC switching duties, with 400V AC being quoted as the maximum switching voltage.

Used in motor switching applications, the 40.11 is able to control single-phase motors up to 0.37kW.

Providing a valuable alternative to standard relays that stand more than twice the height above a PCB, the 40.11 series relay from Finder addresses the continuing demand for reductions in equipment size and the trend for higher packing densities of PCBs.

It neatly solves the common problem of achieving high switching capability in height-restricted applications.
