A series of strategic key management changes have taken place at Furmanite, the global technical services company geared to maximising asset uptime

A series of strategic key management changes have taken place at Furmanite, the global technical services company geared to maximising asset uptime , including the appointment of Furmanite UK managing director Tony Nicholls to managing director of Furmanite Europe, with Paul Brown (formerly head of operations) taking up the post of managing director in the UK.

The organisational changes are part of the parent company Furmanite Worldwide Inc's strategy and vision for continued growth.

The company has seen global revenues grow from $130 million in 2005 to an estimated $240 million in 2006, as a result of both the acquisition of Flowserve's GSG division and internal growth from the legacy Furmanite division.

Part of the company's strategy going forward is to raise awareness and grow business substantially in continental Europe under Tony Nicholls' leadership, where its wide range of technical services offers considerable benefits to plant operators across a breadth of industries seeking to avoid unscheduled shutdown and keep assets earning efficiently.

As managing director of Furmanite Europe Tony Nicholls is now responsible for leading the company's operations in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Nicholls, who joined Furmanite as business development manager in 1998 and was appointed UK managing director in 2003, has seen significant growth in UK business levels and says he is now looking forward to the challenging opportunity of expanding the business in Europe, where the company has traditionally been less well known.

"Tony has done an outstanding job in his prior assignments," Furmanite Worldwide Inc chief operating office Joe Milliron states.

"Part of our strategy is to develop Europe into one of the primary contributors to the company's bottom line, and Tony has demonstrated the necessary credentials to undertake this role".

Paul Brown, who has been with Furmanite for some 11 years and became Furmanite UK head of operations in 2001, has now been appointed to take over as UK managing director.

He is responsible for maintaining an on-going drive for business growth, including development of new markets and services, and says he will be looking to build on successes to date, with a continuing strategic focus on customer intimacy and process excellence.

"We have confidence in Paul's abilities to find those new markets and services to take the UK to a new operating level," Milliron said.

"Both Tony and Paul have earned the positions they now occupy".

"These are exciting times in the Furmanite history and these appointments are key to helping us achieve continued further growth across all world regions," Milliron comments.
