Poole gets a new Marine Centre of Excellence

With a tripling in sales over the last two years, Finning is expanding to meet customer demand, with a new Marine Centre of Excellence in Poole.
Motor boat owners on the South coast are set to get their engines in gear with the opening of a new Finning Marine Centre of Excellence in Poole.
With a tripling in sales over the last two years, the Caterpillar distributor is expanding to meet customer demand.
The 8,000 foot new facility will house a new showroom, state of the art engine workshop, office space and storage area for a range of Caterpillar marine engines and auxiliary power products.
Visitors will be able to view a complete range of small to medium-sized Caterpillar engines and obtain advice from Finning personnel.
In addition, the large new workshop will allow Finning engineers to carry out more engine rebuild work.
With a fleet of 11 service vans, the centre will also act as a base for 12 service engineers who will continue to provide boat owners with a call out service for Caterpillar engine repair work across the South coast.
Commenting on the new facility, Paul Knight, Finning Poole branch manager said: "The growth of the business is testimony to the great work and dedication of the staff".
"The 17-strong team consists of all of the five original staff who have been here since we started in 1990, which is a great achievement in this day and age".
"The new site is double the size of our old premises, so we can showcase more engines and undertake even more engine work on site".
