Simulator predicts pipeline leaks
Fantoft's leak detection system for the Grane-Sture pipeline has been in operation about a half a year.
A series of runs will be executed to evaluate performance under various operating and upset conditions.
The simulation model will be based on upgrade and integration of existing models of the Girassol processing facilities, in addition to construction of a new D-Spice model for the Rosa subsea part.
Fantoft's proprietary dynamic life-cycle simulator D-Spice will be the basis for the computer model.
Olga 2000 multiphase pipeline simulator will be used for the pipelines.
The Rosa field is located in offshore Angola Block 17, in water depths ranging from 1300 to 1500m, at about 15km from the Girassol FPSO.
Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol) is the Block 17 Concessionaire.
Total E and P Angola is the operator in the block.
Total's coventurers are Esso Exploration Angola (Block 17), BP Exploration (Angola), Statoil Angola Block 17 and Norsk Hydro Dezassete.
