Fibre lasers make their mark

A Foba Technology + Services product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 6, 2006

Foba Laser Technology + Services has added the DP10F and DP20F fibre lasers as well as the compact Fiberhome table-mounted model to its product range.

Foba Laser Technology + Services, one of the leading manufacturers of precision lasers in the field of marking, engraving and surface processing, has added the DP10F and DP20F fibre lasers as well as the compact Fiberhome table-mounted model to its product range.

The new pulsed fibre lasers, with power outputs of 10 and 20W, provide an unprecedented level of effectiveness and compactness.

The small dimensions of the laser head, deflector unit and supply unit make integration in small machines and production lines much easier.

Additional distinctive features of this innovative light source include the high level of pulse-to-pulse stability and the excellent beam quality, which offers enormous advantages in terms of marking quality and shorter cycle times for a large number of applications.

The pump diodes are designed in such a way that the actual operating life is increased by many times, which means that the system has very low operating costs and low servicing costs.

The lasers are available as a basic system or also as a complete customer-specific solution including the entire range of accessories and can be used for marking almost any materials, but in particular plastics, foils, metals and electronic components.

The new Fiberhome was developed as a table-mounted unit for the new series of Foba fibre lasers.

A motorised z-axis, lighting and a camera which always provides up-to-date information on the situation in the laser cabin are provided as standard.

Available options include a servomotor controlled rotating axis for automatic marking of cylindrical or ring-like parts.

This means that the compact, low-priced Fiberhome can be used for manufacturing small to medium production batches and quantities of articles in a wide range of industrial fields.
