Tanks upgrade to latest regulations

A Fosse Liquitrol product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 7, 2003

Reckitt Benckiser has recently become the latest company to take on a new bund relining service provided by Fosse Liquitrol to protect its 70,000 litre storage tanks at Kingston upon Hull.

The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001 are now in force for the crackdown on oil contamination problems.

Reckitt Benckiser has recently become the latest company to take on a new bund relining service provided by Fosse Liquitrol to protect its 70,000 litre storage tanks at Kingston upon Hull.

Reckitt Benckiser's premier manufacturing facility in the north of England is its production facility for healthcare products including the world famous Dettol.

With concerns about the bunds of three of its 70,000 litre storage tanks Reckitt Benckiser looked for a high quality bund lining that could provide impermeable containment.

Fosse Liquitrol which is already a market leader in many absorbent spill products provided a bund relining service of GRP (glass-fibre reinforced polyester) to meet the requirements.

The process, which took only six days to complete, was carried out with no disruption to the manufacturing process.

All works were carried out taking into account the sensitive nature of the site in relation to the production of antiseptics.

Following on from this Fosse Liquitrol has been invited back to the Kingston upon Hull site to survey and quote for more relining work.

In addition site surveys have recently been carried out at Reckitt Benckiser, Derby, in relation to spillage control, bund relining and EU regulations compliance.
