Insertion mag meter gives full-bore
performance

The Multi-Mag is a novel insertion mag meter that does not require flow profiling and gives full bore meter accuracy even in nonideal flow conditions.

The Multi-Mag from Flowline is a unique insertion mag meter that does not require flow profiling and gives full bore meter accuracy even in nonideal flow conditions Multi-Mags are in use with many water and industrial companies in pipes from 200mm to 3.6m

Demands for increased monitoring of water supply networks for leakage and billing purposes has required the installation of large numbers of new flowmeters.

Various technologies are employed, including electromagnetic, ultrasonic and mechanical types; but generally speaking magnetic - or "mag" - meters are the preferred type due to their inherent accuracy and reliability.

The problem with "spool piece" mag meters is the cost and difficulty of installation into a live system.

An industry figure puts installation costs at up to 90% of a total metering projects budget.

Insertion or "hot tap" type mag meters that do not require shutdowns do exist however most require two tapping points to enable a velocity profile to be made, velocity profiling is required with single point insertion meters to enable their accuracy to approach that of a spool piece meter.

Now Multi-Mag is available as a battery-powered data-logging system overcoming the need for external power supplies or telemetry connections.

The Multi-Mag sensor and control unit are suitable for use in flooded chambers.

The system will measure flows in areas where water conductivity can be very low, even down to 5uS/cm.

Multi-Mag is available with many additional features including signal outputs and solar power packs. Request a free brochure from Flowline ...
