A meeting of the thermoforming sector will take place at Rapra Technology, Shawbury, on 23rd February 2005 to fully explain the new health and safety legislation which is now enforceable law.
Over the past two years, and in partnership with Faraday Plastics, the UK Health and Safety Executive, and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) the thermoforming sector has come to a new safety agreement and policy which is now law.
"We now have an agreement that works", says Martin Woodley of Faraday Plastics, "and is now enforceable through the HSE".
"I strongly recommend all in the industry to attend on 23rd February; find out what improvements are available to them, and also, what obligations they are now under".
The 23rd February meeting at Rapra Technology, Shawbury, will see detailed explanation and exposition of the new thermoforming safety laws from HSE personnel, including an introduction to the industry agreement; update on accident stats; the effect of human failure and technical issues from an HSE perspective.
The SPE will speak on practical improvement regarding thermoforming machinery entry and Martin Woodley of Faraday Plastics will launch the best practice documents.
