Faraday Plastics has started rolling out technology roadmapping (TRM) techniques and services for use by individual companies in the plastics and rubber sectors.

Taking its cue from recent innovations in business and politics, the "technology roadmap" has become a key instrument for the Faraday Plastics in helping to develop the industry's sense of its future in a number of key technology areas such as energy usage, nanotechnology and mould utilisation.
A number of studies have been researched and published on these topics using a cross section of expert input from key players in the plastics sector.
Faraday Plastics is now offering the technique for use by individual companies.
A number of well-known names in the industry have already taken advantage of the special training and facilitation on offer, including medical and healthcare specialist, Bespak.
Dr Tol Purewal, Head of R and D at Bespak Europe said: "We found Faraday Plastics' assistance and understanding of our technologies invaluable in facilitating the technology roadmap relevant to our company".
The TRM assistance is bespoke for the needs of each individual business and is not restricted to plastics processors.
Leading gas injection solutions supplier CGI, for example, recently took advantage of Faraday Plastics facilitation in order to technology roadmap its own commercial and technical future.
Terry Pearson of CGI says: "We found the whole process extremely useful".
"It was the first time that our company had assembled in a structured way - a team of all the disciplines - in order to plan our future together".
"We plan to make this a regular exercise", says Pearson, "and we shall once again be involving the expertise and independent viewpoint of Faraday Plastics".

Richard Simpson, Faraday Plastics Director says: "CGI adopted the TRM principles very quickly".
"The proof of the pudding can already be seen in the company's raised marketing profile - both online and through their website".
Faraday Plastics last year helped to attract some GBP 22 million in polymer based research for the UK plastics sector, covering more than 20 projects throughout the EU.
