Pump moves heavy-duty fluids

Pumps can handle fluids such as electrolytes, washings in flue gas cleaning plants, pickling bath liquids, regeneration fluids, acids, alkalis and heavily contaminated process waters and effluents.

Friatec-Rheinhutte has introduced the RCNKu series of pumps for fluids such as electrolytes, washings in flue gas cleaning plants, pickling bath liquids, regeneration fluids, acids, alkalis and heavily contaminated process waters and effluents.

Applications are in the chemical industry, processing technology, metallurgy, surface coating technology, effluents and environmental engineering.

All components in contact with the medium are made from solid plastic to increase operating reliability.

Depending on the medium, materials are available in polypropylene for temperatures from 0 to 100C, high molecular polyethylene for -50 to +80C, and polyvinylidene fluoride for -20 to +130C.

For safety, the enclosed armour is made of A536 CL60 cast iron coated with synthetic resin.

This protects the plastic internals of the pump from pipe and misalignment forces.

The armour also protects the plastic components from external forces such as fire and UV radiation and is suitable for explosion proofing, protecting personnel and dissipating static electricity.

Even if the plastic components have been damaged, the metal armour is a short-term safeguard against the escape of the medium.

The design allows for simple and quick replacement of wearing components.

Shaft sealing is by single or double acting mechanical seals.

For extreme demands, versions have been used in flue gas scrubbers.

A full range of pump sizes for rates up to 11kg/min is available.
