Contract to expand Saudi petrochemicals
complex
Foster Wheeler Energy has been awarded a programme management services contract by Eastern Petrochemical Company for the expansion of an existing petrochemicals complex in Saudi Arabia.

The expansion of the existing petrochemicals complex will include the following units: a grassroots 1300kt per annum ethylene cracker, a 800kt per annum polyethylene plant, a 600kt per annum ethylene glycol plant and associated offsites and utilities.
Foster Wheeler's scope of work as programme management contractor (PMC) will include the preparation of front-end engineering design (FEED) and preparation and issue of invitations to bid for each of the process units, including bid evaluation and award recommendations for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.
Foster Wheeler will also manage all EPC contractors and provide the overall management, co-ordination and control of all phases of the programme.
Mechanical completion is expected in early 2008.
