Foster Wheeler USA has been awarded a contract by Flint Hills Resources to produce the process design package for the replacement of the coker island at the Pine Bend Refinery.

Foster Wheeler USA Corporation has been awarded a contract by Flint Hills Resources to produce the process design package for the replacement of the coker island at the Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Foster Wheeler will undertake the process design for new larger coke drums, a new coker structure and a new blowdown system, and the procurement of long-lead items

The terms of the award were not disclosed and the project will be included in the company's second-quarter 2006 bookings.

"We believe this award reflects Flint Hills' satisfaction with, and confidence in, Foster Wheeler's coking and project execution expertise", said Troy Roder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Foster Wheeler USA Corporation.

"We are also in the advanced stage of completing engineering and procurement for a similar project at Flint Hills' Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery".

"We are delighted that Flint Hills has also indicated its intention to award Foster Wheeler the front-end engineering design for the Pine Bend project, followed by the engineering and procurement phase, subject to our achievement of certain cost and schedule targets".

Foster Wheeler is a market leader in delayed coking and has designed more than 50 delayed coking plants worldwide.
