A clever little gripper, made by Gimatic in Italy, is new on the market as a standard product but well proven in industry as it originally has been made to customer design The gripper's purpose is to remove sprue from plastic injection moulding machines and its design engineer was obviously an expert on the subject

Eye catching features are the crocodile like jaws which are 12 mm wide and 40 mm long with a dozen teeth each.

The angular motion ranges between minus 9 degrees closed and 31 degrees open.

The closing force is 300 Ncm with 6 bar air pressure at a speed of 0.02 seconds.

The gripper housing is made in plastic and weighs just 115 grams and includes a dove tail slot on both sides to accommodate sensors.

The housing footprint is 45 mm x 25 mm with a height of 44.5 mm.
