The Gimatic L40 is a self-supporting slide system with integrated recirculating ball-bearing guidance.

The Gimatic L40 is a self-supporting slide system with integrated recirculating ball-bearing guidance The housing is made in black anodised aluminium extrusion with inserted hardened steel bearing rails, providing very high stiffness and deflection resistance

The units are available in a single bore size of 40mm with standard strokes of 300, 500, 1000 and 2000mm.

A rodless cylinder drives the carrier via a patented belt transmission system rendering the common rodless cylinder sealing problems obsolete.

The piston moves in a cylinder separated from the belt at half the stroke and speed of the carrier, effectively doubling the piston seal life.

Several pneumatic stopper units can be fitted along the extrusion providing accurate intermediate stop positions in both travel directions.

These units are adjustable and can be actuated as and when required via the machine PLC and solenoid valves.

The carrier is equipped with two shock absorbers to decelerate and stop the load accurately.

Maximum permissible load is 30kg.

The repeatability is +/-0.02mm.

Electrical and pneumatic connection and support facilities are provided enabling to distribute supply leads to stopper units and sensors tidily.

A cable chain allows for the safe supply of power and air to the carriage with its integrated services distribution.

With the side and end covers closed stoppers and services are safely out of sight emphasising the units attractive appearance.

The modular units are compatible with the existing "Gimapick" range of slides grippers and rotary actuators enabling to build multi-axis multiposition pneumatic handling systems.

The slide unit L40 is made by Gimatic in Italy and distributed in the UK by FS Engineering.
