Innovative rodless gripper cylinders
Automation engineers can obtain two separate movements on a single linear axis, saving design and assembly time plus an actuator.
New rotary actuators have internal air leads
Forming part of the Gimapick series Pick and Place Modules, the rotary actuators R32 and R63 are equipped with internal air leads.
The rotary actuator is fitted with shock absorbers, as are the two slides which both have 16mm bore and 25mm stroke.
A parallel gripper picks tiny components of insignificant weight.
The approximate machine space required for such a unit is a cube with 200mm-long sides.
Sufficient room to extend the slides, allow for the extra length of the shock absorbers, the gripper jaws, for air pipes and sensor wires.
A cycle time of 1.3s can be achieved and the repeatability of each motion is +/-0.02mm.
The flush fitting end of stroke sensors are accommodated in service friendly externally accessible slots, as are the shock absorbers which double as precision stroke settings.
All Gimatic pneumatic automation components carry a warranty of at least 10 million cycles lubrication and maintenance free operation.
After that, they can be refurbished as and when required to further extend their service life.
Speed, smoothness, precision and modularity are the key characteristics of the standard series Z Mini-Slides, as proposed for the above application.
The slides are available in two sizes having twin bore cylinders of 8 or 16mm and strokes from 25 to 150mm.
The low weight aluminium body contains the pneumatics and the recirculating ball bearings, which ensure low friction motion of the sliding part with its integral guide rods and rigid tool mounting surfaces.
The versatile Gimatic range of rotary actuators includes two and three position units with torques from 0.72 to 22.44Nm and small pneumatic indexing tables with three, six or eight positions.
Design engineers can create comprehensive handling solutions with the large range of Gimatic slides and the extensive choice of grippers.
Full documentation, technical files and CAD drawings are available on CD-ROM and directly from the Gimatic website at www.gimatic.com.
3D illustrations are available on request from the UK distributor FS Engineering which offers free consultancy to advise on appropriate equipment configurations for handling system solutions, resulting in reduced design and installation time and maximising ease of use.
