Distributors expand North American operations

A FS-Elliott product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 9, 2005

FS-Elliott has more than doubled its number of distributors throughout North America.

In an effort to expand its rapidly growing North American operations and address anticipated customer demand for its portfolio of engineered air products, FS-Elliott has more than doubled its number of distributors throughout North America.

This expansion will provide FS-Elliott customers with greater access to the company's engineered air products, such as the PAP Plus centrifugal compressor and the Regulus control system.

To maximise the effectiveness of the expanded distributor network, FS-Elliott has also instituted an aggressive distributor training programme.

Addison Kelley, Vice President, Global Customer Support, and his team of technical experts and regional sales representatives recently trained distributors from more than 30 different distribution companies across the USA and Canada.

"We had to expand our North American distribution channels to meet projected sales growth", says Kelley.

"Now we have a much larger, well-trained sales force, ready to address the varying requirements of our customers throughout North America".

FS-Elliott's engineered air technology provides compressed air solutions for manufacturers in industries such as automotive, food and beverage processing.

It is also used in API672 applications in refining, petrochemicals, and oil and gas processing.

This broad range of industrial applications makes it vital that FS-Elliott distributors have an intimate knowledge of the engineered air product line and how to best meet specific customer and market needs.

To achieve this level of understanding, training session participants were provided with company and product background, information on air compressor basics, as well as more complicated technical details, such as compressor performance, control and supply.

Sessions were also focused on troubleshooting to help improve customers' manufacturing capabilities.

"The distributor training programme is a win-win situation", according to Bradley Fresh, from Delta Industries, a new FS-Elliott distributor.

"Customers benefit because FS-Elliott distributors are better equipped to handle their specific manufacturing challenges, while FS-Elliott gets the benefit of being represented by a more knowledgeable and professional sales force".
