The 2003 Fastener Fair featured a new-look layout, many new exhibitors and new highlights including an immensely entertaining gala dinner.

Fastener Fair organiser Jerry Ramsdale always says that "each year is a different show", and 2003 proved his point with a new-look layout featuring many new exhibitors and new highlights including an immensely entertaining gala dinner.

There were 138 fastener, fixings and tools companies at the show, with 25 completely new exhibitors.

Overall stand numbers were slightly down on 2002, although the actual stand space occupied increased.

"We were delighted with the high quality of presentation, throughout the show", commented Ramsdale, "and the lively and warm welcome extended to visitors.

Companies were geared up to do business and I'm delighted their preparation was rewarded.

We have never had so many stands saying it was their best show ever, or reporting such strong levels of new business".

The prospect of plenty of new ideas and opportunities clearly persuaded visitors from UK and Europe it was well worth making the trip to the International Exhibition Centre, Donington.

Total visitor numbers were up marginally on a successful 2002.

"With visitor attendance down at other major industry shows this year, and talk of cancelled events", said Ramsdale.

"We were really pleased with numbers and even more so to hear so many visitors found a day at the Fastener Fair interesting and worthwhile".

Next year will be the tenth anniversary of the event and nearly half of 2003 exhibitors have already reserved space.

The Fastener Fair 2004 will take place on 16th and 17th May at the Telford Exhibition Centre.

As well as an exciting new Midlands venue, show opening days will also be different.

"We recognise it is tougher than ever to get away from the business during the week", says Ramsdale, "so next year's 10th anniversary Fastener Fair will be the first to open on a Sunday and Monday.

We have chosen Telford for its easy access and because the area offers tremendous attractions for the family while owners and managers who can't get away during the week visit the show".

The Fastener Fair 2004 exhibitors' brochure is available now.
