Oil sampling aids condition monitoring

One new service that is proving very popular with companies is Oilcheckuk, a comprehensive oil sampling condition monitoring programme.

This service is competitively priced at GBP 10.00 plus VAT per sample and individual sampling kits contain a 100ml sample bottle, plastic tubing, machine ID label, pre paid postage label and jiffy bag.

The price includes the laboratory analysis report that is returned to the customer within 48 hours of the sample being received.

All reports are colour coded and complete in detail, indicating the wear, chemistry and contamination levels, individual graphs identify trends along with an interpreters report advising of any areas for investigation.

Discounts are available for volume.

Purpose built hard case carry kits containing 10 complete sample kits, sampling gun, knife and plastic tubing, and instructions for use are available "off the shelf".

These kits are of particular interest to workshops and field service engineers.

To compliment the Oilcheckuk laboratory service, FA-ST also provides, on a contract basis a service to companies where an engineer will carry out the condition monitoring programme.

This may be designed to include the installation of sampling points to all machinery, taking oil samples, analysing reports, identifying trends, filter and oil changes, oil filtration, system cleaning and advice on any problem areas that may be identified.

FA-ST has also added the Kleenoil air precleaners that have successfully completed field trials with several companies, working in dusty and dirty environments, proving the benefits of additional air filtration and of removing 90% airborne dust particles above 10 microns, resulting in extended OEM air filter changes, reducing maintenance costs and improving fuel consumption for engines.

These are available in sizes from 20 to 2000ft3/min and 1.5 to 9in air intake.

The FA-ST "on site" oil filtration service has proved to be very popular with customers and FA-ST and Kleenoil are to extend this service during 2005.

FA-ST has carried out filtration on static storage tanks, construction machinery and industrial cutting fluids enabling companies to re-use and extend the life of the oils.

This has resulted in substantial cost savings and reduced the amount of waste oil being produced.

FA-ST provide all the equipment required and included in the service is on-site particle counting using the CM20 white laser monitor and oil sampling before and after filtration.

Filter rigs can be designed for companies' specific requirements and standard production models are available for purchase ex stock.
