Filter range reduces hydraulic system wear
FA-ST has recently been appointed as a UK installer and distributor for the Kleenoil product range of oil filtration bypass units, filters and filter rigs.
Oil sampling aids condition monitoring
Following the appointment in 2004 of FA-ST as a distributor for the Kleenoil, oil filtration product range, FA-ST has now added further products and services for the oil using industries.
To compliment the successful range of oil filtration products and demand from industrial manufacturers FA-ST has released a magnetic micro filtration unit.
Heavily contaminated oil with metal particles is very difficult to filter as OEM filters and normal micro filtration filters soon become blocked.
Trials have been conducted with various types of additional filters and it was found that the magnetic filter gives by far the best results.

The latest bypass microfilter unit from Filtration Analysis Services Technology is specifically designed for applications where nonsparking, strength and durability are required.
Filter helps users meet biodiesel standards
FA-ST has designed an environmentally friendly filtration unit to help companies meet the industry biodiesel standard EN14214 2004.
By using this magnetic filter over 90% of the metal particles are initially removed prior to the oil entering the micro filters, therefore considerably extending the life of the micro filter cartridges.
The oil can then be re-used again and again, offering considerable cost savings, making this filtration unit a very cost effective addition to any company.
As an example, after filtering and re-using eight 200 litre drums of oil and the unit has effectively paid for itself.
This portable filter rig has been designed specifically for companies who have problems of high metal contamination in their oils but it can also be used in other industries.
It is particularly effective for industries that use oil and oil based products in the metal working industries, such as saw sharpening, blade sharpening, metal washing, drill bit manufacturing, CNC engineering, quench oils etc.
The robust magnetic filter removes the metal particles prior to the oil entering the micro filtration filters.
The most popular two unit rig is capable of over 700 litres per hour (based on 32 sec oil) and is fitted with a heavy duty mono screw pump and motor.
The motor is available as 240V, 110V or air driven.
The unit is fitted with a pressure relief switch, pressure gauge, isolator switch, on/off control and power indicator lights, single, twin or four filter variations, suction and return lines and a strong tubular steel trolley.
Extensive trials during 2005 have proved the efficiency, economic value and reliability of this product.
Two types of micro filtration filter cartridges are available, standard for oil products and polypropylene for water based oil products.
Individually designed filtration units can also be built to specification for permanent installation on all types of machinery.
These can be fitted as a stand-alone pumped system taking a feed and return from the main storage tank or as a bypass filtration system using a feed from the pressure circuit line.
FA-ST always recommends that oil sampling should be used to monitor oil condition and can offer this service to all businesses.
