FTL Seals Technology has just launched a comprehensive design guide on sealing for the Marine Industry.
The key feature offered by FTL Seals' Meridian range is the inclusion of seals with a PTFE dispersion moulded into the sealing lips.
The PTFE lowers friction without affecting sealing efficiency.
Additionally in applications where very low friction is needed PTFE can also be sprayed onto the lips of the seals to reduce friction even further without affecting sealing efficiency.
The current product range from FTL Seals covers standard hydraulic seals to mechanical seals, modular seals, polyurethane components and non-ferrous bearings.
Increasingly, the company is focused on complete design and build projects such as pipeline pigs, rotary unions, military track rollers and suspension as well as marine applications.
The Meridian Rotary Shaft Seals are rotary shaft seals of proven design with a fabric/elastomer outer diameter, to retain the seal and prevent leakage around the outer diameter.
There are various seal types making them suitable for a multitude of applications, including seals which will withstand up to 10 bar pressure.
