Shock absorbers, hinges, gears, pumps, valves, car seats or vibration-dampers - the desire for comfort and maintenance free bearings have led car and car component manufacturers to install millions and millions of slide bearings, year after year.
As well as comfort and the maintenance free aspects, another issue has entered the decision-making arena in car manufacturing.
This is the possibility and need to supply environmentally friendly components, which can be recycled.

The European Parliament has already passed regulations to limit the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and 6-valued chromium.
These regulations will come into force from July 1st 2003 and are linked to the proposal to reduce the aforementioned materials considerably and replace them as soon as possible.
