Bronze bushings embed graphite lubrication

A FTL Seals Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 4, 2007

Bushings exhibit excellent performance without external lubrication at both elevated and subzero temperatures.

Cast bronze bushings with embedded graphite pockets are now available from FTL Technology.

The base metal withstands high loads and the solid graphite pockets provide lubrication.

The bushings exhibit excellent performance without external lubrication at both elevated and subzero temperatures.

The bushings are suitable for reciprocating, oscillating, intermittent and slow speed rotational movement where a hydrodynamic oil film is impossible to form.

Anticorrosion characteristics are good, and chemical resistance is high.

This bushing can be used in dry conditions, high temperatures, high loadings, corrosive environments, water or other chemical environments when no oil can be introduced.

It is currently widely used in continuous casting machines, steel rollers in metallurgical industry, mineral mining machines, ships, turbogenerators, hydraulic turbines and injection moulding machines.
