Load cell handles three axes in one

A Futek Advanced Sensor Technology product story

The MTA505 tri-axial load cell offers an excellent solution for measuring Mx, My and Fz loads.

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology has expanded its multi-axis load cell series with the new MTA505.

The MTA505 tri-axial load cell offers an excellent solution for measuring Mx, My and Fz loads.

It is currently offered in two capacity options with Fz capacities of 4536 or 11,340kg and both Mx and My of 226 or 1130Nm.

The product is made from a robust 17-4 stainless-steel material to withstand challenging environments and offers great accuracy by using strain gauge technology.

The obvious advantage in using a multi-axis load cell as opposed to a regular load cell is in its ability to measure multiple axis loads.

Such an application measurement is common in rehabilitation and physical therapy where a multi-axis load cell can be used to measure the multiple forces of the muscles and joints.

Automated production lines and robotic applications would also be suitable environments where the MTA505 can be used.

Futek also provides a standard calibration service in compression (free of charge) for these multi-axis load cells per NIST traceable standards.

Futek also has an ISO17025:2005 A2LA accredited laboratory that can also provide additional calibration options such as a complete system calibration (if an instrument is selected with the multi-axis load cell).

By selecting the system calibration, the sensor and instrument will be integrated as one system.

The complete system will be set up, configured, scaled, calibrated and ready for plug and play.
