Futek introduces pedal force load cell

A Futek Advanced Sensor Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 3, 2009

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology has added the LAU220 pedal force load cell to its USB Sensor Solution line.

The module eliminates the need for an analogue amplifier, power supply and display equipment.

The USB integration also includes Futek's USB software, which allows users to monitor the output of the Sensor in real time.

This particular model is a spike-resistant pedal force sensor with improved off-centre loading.

Spike resistance makes the sensor more resistant to impact loads, and enables it to provide accurate readings without causing any damage.

The LAU220 pedal force load cell has a 17-4PH stainless steel one-piece construction and comes with removable mounting plates, custom-built strain relief and a machined slip-resistant top surface.

Pedal force load cells are commonly used in automotive applications such as brake pedal force measurement, vehicle brake homologation, and high-precision triggers for brake testing equipment.

This type of sensor is specifically designed to measure force that is required to operate a vehicle's primary brake, clutch or floor-mounted emergency brake pedals.

The LAU220 comes with two different mounting plates, a shunt cal resistor and a carry case.
