Fluent has signed an exclusive sponsorship agreement with Dale Earnhardt of Mooresville, North Carolina.

Although CFD software has a long history of use in automotive manufacturing and Formula One racing, Dale Earnhardt is one of the first to add this high technology tool to its engineering arsenal in Nascar racing.

Dale Earnhardt's engineers use Fluent software to simulate the performance of racing vehicle components.

Fluent is a desktop engineering tool that simulates fluid flow, heat transfer and chemical reactions.

"Fluent has been used to analyse coolant, oil, cylinder head and intake manifold flows of the engine.

Fluent has also been useful in improving the performance of the race car's over body and under body, cooling system, under hood and brake duct flows, as well as the combustion air inlet", says Charles Jenckes, Dale Earnhardt's Team Engineer.

"In the ultracompetitive world of Nascar racing, top teams rely on tools that generate results.

Fluent's suite of CFD tools allows Dale Earnhardt to accomplish its mission of developing winning race cars and engines".

As a sponsor/supplier to Dale Earnhardt, Fluent provides Dale Earnhardt engineers with the software, training, and unlimited technical support to ensure that they successfully introduce CFD to their intensive design environment, and achieve maximum benefit from the technology.
