An hour-long webinar will focus on "Solving ocean engineering problems using computational fluid dynamics".

Fluent is hosting an hour-long webinar on "Solving ocean engineering problems using computational fluid dynamics" at 2000 BST on Thursday 29th September 2005.

The event will demonstrate how flow modelling software can be used to complement existing methods and tools in order to meet the demanding needs of naval/ocean engineering applications.

Dr Shin Hyung Rhee, a fluid dynamics specialist in marine applications, will discuss complex engineering challenges such as hydrodynamics of floating/underwater vessels, aerodynamics of structures above the water surface, fully nonlinear free-surface waves, vortex-induced vibration and free-surface flow analysis of offshore structures.

Dr Rhee will showcase two specific examples in detail: flow around a cylindrical structure vertically piercing the free-surface and unsteady flow around a 3D blunt cylindrical body.

By the end of the webinar, participants will have a strong understanding of the benefits gained from using flow modelling in tandem with the other analysis tools in your arsenal.

There is no need for a background in or prior knowledge of flow modelling.
