Seminars reveal more about CFD
Fluent is to hold two one-day seminars intended for anyone who is new to computational fluid dynamics and/or those who would like to learn more about the application of CFD.
Version 2.1 introduces capabilities such as CAD connections for Pro/Engineer, Solidworks and UGS' NX, allowing users to send their models to Flowizard with the click of a button.
These connections include model preparation and model checking tools that help users efficiently transform their CAD models into CFD results.
CAD connections also ensure that Flowizard fits seamlessly into virtual design processes within global engineering organisations.
The software includes a rotating machinery model to predict the flow and pressure field in pumps, fans, turbines and impellers.
This expands the scope of problems that designers can analyse.
Additional enhancements include improvements in geometry processing, mesh generation, solver efficiency and post-processing.
"We have been very pleased with the success of Flowizard internationally, especially in Japan", said Andre Bakker, Flowizard Product Manager at Fluent.
"And to serve customers better in this important market, Flowizard v2.1 offers the user a choice between a new Japanese language interface and the original English language interface".
"This is expected to expand the adoption of Flowizard among equipment designers in Japan".
Rapid flow modelling is an approach to CFD simulation aimed at reducing overall product design time while increasing efficiency by allowing for quick engineering design validation throughout a product's lifecycle.
Flowizard makes use of a high level of automation that is the key to its success and tasks that conventionally require a lot of manual intervention including meshing, steering and reporting are performed automatically.
The product is upwardly compatible with the Fluent v6.2 CFD tool.
It therefore permits design engineers to do more and better CFD analyses, faster than before.
