Underlining its commitment to staying abreast of its customers' needs, Flux Pumps has an expanded range of pumping solutions compliant with the Atex 100a (94/9/EC) Directive.

Underlining its commitment to staying abreast of its customers' needs, Flux Pumps has an expanded range of pumping solutions compliant with the Atex 100a (94/9/EC) Directive.

Because the deadline for compliance with the Directive is fast approaching, Atex 100a approval is now a major factor in the purchasing decision.

From 2003, users of certifiable products will be required to comply, and will be unable to access spares for non-compliant products.

Companies now neglecting to ensure the compliance of their installations view the possibility of costly replacement in the short term.

Flux Pumps' future-proof, cost-efficient solutions now include Atex 100a-approved versions for handling a wide variety of liquids and the full range of viscosities, meeting hazardous-area requirements across all processing industries.

For the most economical delivery, the lightweight F 425S safety pump is designed to achieve 99.98% drainage of barrels and containers to minimise disposal costs and wastage of high-value liquids.

It features delivery rate up to 110 litre/min and delivery head up to 10m, handling viscosities up to 900mPas.

Sealless, and with no O-rings in the liquid section, the F 424 pump is a maintenance-free solution for handling abrasive and aggressive media.

The pump is designed for safe dry running and complete self-draining.

Delivery rates are up to 220 litre/min, delivery head is up to 20m, and viscosity range is up to 900mPas.

The F 427 features fast stripdown for cleaning or sterilisation ideal for processing a variety of liquids or colours, and quick-drying or film-forming liquids.

Wear-resistant seals and bearings and quick action pump/motor couplings also help to ensure maximum uptime.

Manufactured from stainless steel, PTFE or ETFE, the 427 can be specified for a wide variety of fluids.

Maximum delivery rate is 220 litre/min with a maximum 12m delivery head and viscosities to 700mPas.

The F 430 features a mechanical seal and temperature class T4 to handle a variety of media including high flammability liquids.

Shaft support bearings isolated from the liquid and proven seal design extend life.

The F 430 also leaves virtually no residue, and is ideal for handling media such as paints, adhesives and materials which tend to crystallise or harden.

Maximum delivery rate is 220 litre/min, with a maximum 28m head and viscosities to 900mPas.

Ratings are based on mating the pumps with the Type 460 Ex pump motor, believed to be the first for barrel pumps to be Atex 100a-approved.

Flux can also supply compliant versions of its F 550 general-purpose range and F 560 hygienic range of progressive cavity pumps, providing a versatile solution for handling medium- to high-viscosity (up to 80Pas) and fragile media with flow rates up to 50 litre/min and excellent price/performance for fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and petrochemical applications.

To complete its pumping solutions, Flux also offers an AtEx 100a-compliant version of its high-precision FMC flowmeter, which can also double as a batch controller.

Total solutions are offered with full application and service support ensuring years of troublefree service.
